He wants us to share in the blessings that success brings, and to feel the joy that comes with knowing that we have found grace with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
We have heard that we should not judge the world but instead praise and worship God. What does this mean exactly? We must first know that the world is not perfect, and that we are not all righteous in the eyes of God. We have been given specific instructions on how to behave and what to say and do. This is God's word, and it is written for our correction and instruction.
So if we want to be successful, then we should stop worrying about whether or not other people approve of us. If they don't, then what does that say for us? We aren't perfect, so why should God put us in a box? Instead, we should be praising God for His word and doing what we are told to do and saying positive things about the Lord and what He has done for us.
The only thing that really matters is what God has told us to do. If it is pleasing to Him, then we will do it. What I find very interesting is that God makes no provisions for what we do not choose to do. Why is this so? Because He wants us to be successful in whatever path we decide to follow.
What does success mean to you? Do you see yourself as successful in your career? Do you want to be a popular teacher? Perhaps you are an athlete? There are all kinds of ways to define what success means for you, but the bottom line is this: If it is pleasing to God, then you are successful!
Why is this so? Basically, when we are successful, we are prospering in God's grace. What that means is that we are blessed. And prospering brings with it a feeling of abundance. That's why it is important to praise God for His word and follow what it says.
Think about this: When we pray and ask God for something, it doesn't mean that we want it. It just means that it is His desire. His word is truth, it is what He really wants for us. When we are successful, we are prospering in His favor. Because of this, we have a sense of satisfaction that only comes from success, and we feel like it is our birthright.
